We had a bit of rain yesterday, which is unusual here for this time of year. After months of dry weather, it was nice to sit out on the verandah and watch it come down. There’s not much to look at since we dug up the garden in front of the house, but at least there’s this heart-shaped lotus pond and a young avocado tree that Eid’s Mom started growing some time ago with an avocado pit Eid brought down from Chiang Mai. The lotus pond is also Eid’s mother’s creation, dating back to when Eid was still in high school. It took five or six people to move it to its current position, after we decided it was time to clean things up around the house. The pond now has pride of place in what we hope will one day be a decent little garden out there.
Anyway, I hope it’s not raining on anybody else’s heart this Valentine’s Day. Have a good one.
